First camping trip for the year...

We went to Birch Creek again this year.
It is still cool enough we can camp in the middle of the desert and not bake to death under the sun with out trees surrounding us. There are lots of good 4wheeling trails, and fun places to explore. They also plant fish in the creek and the girls love fishing there because they don't have to wait around all day to catch one. They brought home 11 fish for grandpa to smoke. They were thrilled, but of coarse with girls it wouldn't be a good day unless we have at least one of them through a fit and pout. Kodie was up set because Paige caught one more fish than she did and dad wouldn't wait around for her to catch one more.

I thought this was a good picture of the 3 of them walking back to camp
after their fishing adventure.

While Dad and the girls were fishing, Parker and I grabbed a piece of licorice, and went for a wheeler ride. Parker loved it of coarse, and eventually fell asleep. I took him back to the trailer for his nap and this is the goofy face i found.

One covered in licorice.
We had a lot of fun with the Albertsons, and Grandma and Grandpa Dye, playing games,
cooking out, fishing, and going for rides. But of coarse what is Memorial Day Weekend with out bad weather. We did spend a little more time in the trailer that we wanted to but we still had a good time together.

Mowing the lawn

Parker loves his daddy, and he also loves anything loud, with wheel or that moves
he is so happy when he gets to go for a ride.
Every time we go into the garage he points to the lawn mower and the
four wheeler wanting to go for a ride and he is so up set when we get in the car instead.

Ok not the best Picture but he has a huge grin on his face!

Another Music Concert

Paige had a music concert for the end of the school year and it was cute. She is so shy and bashful when she is in a big crowd. My Favorite song they sang is about a boa constrictor. It is so funny the way she pronounces it.
This years theme was "It's a Jungle out there" and all of the songs they sang had to do with animals. Each class took turns singing one song as a class with little masks they made.

She was so excited when she finally picked us out of the crowd.
She did a great job and loves to sing. But I am glad it is finally over.

Build A Bear

Our First experience with the real build a bear was a good one I think.
I tried to talk Jared into just staying back at camp instead of heading to build a bear with Devan & Leslie, but no he had made up his mind he wanted to go for a ride.
I warned him that if we went we'd end up buying one for all the kids because they wouldn't go in a store like that and not ask for one. So Yes all 3 of the kids got one. They are so cute, I can't believe the accessories you can get to go with a stuffed animal. Purses, sunglasses, shoes, hats, cell phones, wands, cars, closets, you name it I am sure it was there.
First you pick out the animal you want, and then you get it stuffed, do a little dance,
and add a heart. Then you have to get it sewn shut, and then it is off for a bath. It was so neat, the girls stood on these petals and then air came out of the shower heads to clean any excess fur, or fluff off the bears. Then they gave them a good brushing and they were ready to be dressed.

Jared, Parker, and Grandpa sat aside and
watched the kids go nuts looking at all of their possibilities.

Clothes and shoes oh my...

My girls were in heaven they ran all over that store saying I want this, I want that, I told them they could choose 1 outfit and 1 accessory, and that made them think a little harder about what they really wanted.

So about $75 later Jared said that is enough lets go.

And believe it or not he even passed up the Denver Broncos outfit for Parker's little puppy
and settled on camouflage boxer shorts.

Kodie & Maddy

Paige & Allie

Parker & Big Dog

Aren't they just adorable?

We had a great time and enjoyed spending time together
and my girls are all ready planning the next trip.

Lagoon

This weekend Kodie decided to participate in a dance competition at Lagoon.
So we packed up and pulled the trailer down, stopping at my mom's house Thursday and then leaving Friday afternoon to Lagoon. We rented an RV spot at the Lagoon campground. Devan, Leslie, and their family, because Marley competed also. Bruce and Layne Crockett, and Jesse and Marsha Dye also decided to come along for support and some fun away from home.
On Friday the weather was perfect, Parker crawled around on the grass at our camp spot, the girls went for walks, and we even cooked out side.

( Isn't he so cute in his new hat?)

But Saturday turned into something else.
It was pouring rain starting first thing in the morning, making it horrible conditions for a dance competition. But they always say that the show must go on. So we did. We bundled up bought umbrella's and ponchos, and walked into the park at 8am to prepare for the dancing.

(We are so glad you were able to come enjoy this with us.)

And then it was our turn....

Kodie did a great job and had a lot of fun despite the weather.

Paige on the other hand was a little board.

Marley's class also did very well and there are also a couple of girls in our ward that danced in her group. Madison Batchelor, and Tierra Swensen. It was fun to see them also. It was like one big family reunion, we saw all kinds of people we knew all day long.

Jared and I took the kids back to the trailer fixed lunch, and tried to get a little time to pass because it was of coarse still raining. And when Jared had had enough of sitting around he talked me into getting ready and going out to the rides. We left the kids with Jesse and Marsha for a couple of hours and ventured out into the rain. We went to the ride Wicked first and whooooa... I was not prepared for that. It scared the crap out of me but I am still here. Then of coarse the Colossus, the Spider, the Bat, just to name a few. Then when we were soaked from head to toe we headed back to the trailer to change and take care of the kids until the rain let up.
I think it was around 3 or maybe 4 when the weather finally decided to cooperate.
So we got the kids, and even Jesse and Marsha decided to head out for a walk around the park.
We took them to the Lady Bug hop, the kids swings, Puff the Magic Dragon, the mini Tidal Wave, Helicopters, etc.

Jared decided he'd take Parker on this one, he didn't like it too much but he wasn't screaming either, I think he was just a little unsure about what was going on.

We also hung out a little with the Wright family

This ride was the Bat and it ended up being Kodie and Marley's favorite one there. I think they went on this ride at least a dozen times.

Devan and Marley held Parker while we went on the train ride.
And by the end of the day Parker was so sick of riding in a stroller while Jared went on the Colossus a couple more times I let him out to wander.

I think he really wanted out of there, so we sent him and Paige back to the trailer with Jesse and Marsha again for the last hour or so. Kodie was so much fun this year she is starting to like some of the older kids rides and was able to run around a little bit more on her own.
Over all I think everyone enjoyed them selves despite the rain. We had fun and the kids are all ready talking about the next time we go.

Dance Recital

Kodie and Paige both did a wonderful job at their recital. Believe it or not it was Kodie's 5th year in dance, and Jill gives them a 5 year trophy award for sticking with it for so long. She has waited and waited for this moment and is so proud of that trophy.

It is so nice that they are finally getting a little older and I can finally enjoy things like this and not be running around with my head chopped off. We always try to get the girls a rose from us for the recital

but it never fails that it is always a last minute thing. Jared ran to Smiths while I took the girls in and sat them with their classes. When will I ever learn to be prepared?

My 2 georgeous girls. Can we say Drama?
